Building Bridges

Getting Ahead Track

Building Bridges is a  high impact strategy program for addressing poverty. By combining tw0 designs from across the United States,  Aha! Process, Inc. and Move The Mountain , community volunteers have an opportunity to get involved by participating in one of  three tracks :

1.    Getting Ahead Track:

The Getting Ahead Track provides an opportunity for individuals who feel trapped in poverty and who have a strong desire to become self-sufficient by participating in Getting Ahead In a Just-Getting’- By World. Getting Ahead is a twenty week course where participants become “investigators” in learning the hidden rules of economic classes, how to recognize “predators”, strategize how to get out of debt, and how to build “future stories” for a better quality of life.

Upon completion of Getting Ahead, each person is eligible to become a “Circle  Leader” by entering the Circles Track.

Classes are held every Thursday evening from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church. Dinner and childcare are available free of charge for all participants enrolled in Building Bridges. Dinner is served from 5:30 - 6:15 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. For more information on how you can enroll in the Getting Ahead Track call (918)338-0800.
